Below is a more detailed handout describing the three parts of an essay, as well as several graphic organizers you can use to plan your essays. If you are writing a project-type essay, you can plan on the organizers in some detail. If you are writing a timed, in-class essay, you may just get comfortable with one type of organizer and use it to organize your point-form notes.
